The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, successfully hosted its comprehensive Orientation Programme 2023/2024 for the newest cohort of students registered for the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Agriculture. The programme officially began with an inaugural ceremony on October 17th, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony, which featured in-person participants, was held at the Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi. Mr. V. Kerishanthan, a student from the 34th batch of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, was awarded the prestigious Sri Lanka University Colours by SLUSA on 30th May 2025 for his outstanding performance at the 2024 Inter-University Games. His excellent performance marked a milestone a milestone for the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka as he played a pivotal role in securing the second runner-up position in carrom at the Inter-University Games— the first time the university has ever placed in this sport.
