The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna has successfully hosted the orientation programme 2021/2022 for the new students who registered for Bachelors of Science (Hons) in Agriculture from 11th September to 15th September 2023. The orientation programme began with an inaugural ceremony with in-person participants at 9 am on 11th September 2023 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi. The session was started with traditional lighting of the oil lamp, followed by welcome address by Mrs. A. Kirisan, Coordinator/Orientation program. The dignitaries, Prof. S. H.E. MIZUKOSHI Hideaki, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka and the officials from Embassy of Japan visited Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna at Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi on 11th of August 2023 to oversee JICA’s PRECIDA-UOJ Project. 31st batch students of the Faculty of Agriculture in collaboration with the Agriculture Students Union organized an exciting Short Film “வலி/Vali” Releasing Festival on 08th of May 2023 at 1.00 P.M at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture to showcase and celebrate their film making skills and creativity and foster a sense of community engagement and collaboration. The welcome activities successfully established a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the occasion. The Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Operation of Sri Lanka organized an event to Recognize the Successful Commercialization of University Research at BMICH, Colombo on the 2nd of May 2023 from 9.00 am onwards. Bael fruit syrup incorporated drinking yoghurt developed by a research team from the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna and commercialized by Mullai Milk Processing  Industry was selected under category 1.
