As per the request of the Deputy Director, Department of Animal Production and Health, Kilinochchi District, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Department of Animal Science conducted a hands-on training session on dairy product development. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of community-based organizations in developing dairy products, viz. Yoghurt and paneer, at the household and small-scale level. Approximately 20 participants from various community-based organizations attended and benefited from the training session. The participants gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in dairy product development techniques such as Yoghurt and Paneer. The training successfully equipped them with the essential skills to process and develop dairy-based products at the household level, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the local dairy industry. The Outreach Committee of the Faculty of Agriculture and Department of Agricultural Biology jointly conducted a workshop on tissue culture on 05.03.2025 from 9.00am-12.00noon. The workshop which was targeted the stakeholders in agriculture development on Tissue Culture, designed to disseminate knowledge and expand awareness of tissue culture applications beyond the immediate participants.
