As per the request of the Deputy Director, Department of Animal Production and Health, Kilinochchi District, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Department of Animal Science conducted a hands-on training session on dairy product development. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of community-based organizations in developing dairy products, viz. Yoghurt and paneer, at the household and small-scale level. Approximately 20 participants from various community-based organizations attended and benefited from the training session. The participants gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in dairy product development techniques such as Yoghurt and Paneer. The training successfully equipped them with the essential skills to process and develop dairy-based products at the household level, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the local dairy industry.

Objective
The primary objective of this workshop was to provide hands-on training in dairy product development, viz. Yoghurt and Paneer, enabling participants to utilize dairy processing techniques effectively to value-add the milk as a result to increase their income generation and uplift living standards within their communities.
