The Faculty of Agriculture signed a MOU with private agri-tcchnology solution partner SenzAgro with objectives to collaborate in knowledge sharing on Precision Agriculture with the University academics, students, and support them in their research projects and training with SenzAgro Crop Intelligence Platform (“AgriCore”) and to further strengthen the internship training towards job market. The Outreach Committee of the Faculty of Agriculture organized an Academia-Public-Private Discussion Forum on “Problem Solving in Agriculture Sector: Agri-Tec-2024” with the sponsorship of JICA PRECIDA – UOJ, World Vision and Agro Ceylon Fertilizer International (PVT) Limited on February 28, 2024, at the main auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi from 8.30 am - 4.00 pm. The prime aim of this discussion forum was to make connections between stakeholders from various public-private sectors and academia of FOA, identify the industries and farmers’ problems in the field of agriculture, provide the best solution for agro-entrepreneurs and agro-based industries, and facilitate students to conceive the research ideas to carryout researches. The "Empowering Kilinochchi Agriculture" project is a holistic endeavor initiated by The Outreach Committee of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, and the Rotary Club of Kilinochchi District. The Northern Provincial Council organized an exhibition on “Entrepreneurial School Garden” at Mallavi Central College, Mullaitivu with the coordination of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The exhibition aimed to promote the concept of school gardens with modernized agricultural practices, technology, awareness of food-based dietary patterns and consumption of millet food, preparation of a digital platform for school gardens, and other subjects based on agriculture promotion among school children and youth farmers. The event was held on 10th     and 11th of October 2023 at the school premises and was open to school students all over the Northern Province. Faculty of Agriculture also participated in the exhibition. The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna has successfully hosted the orientation programme 2021/2022 for the new students who registered for Bachelors of Science (Hons) in Agriculture from 11th September to 15th September 2023. The orientation programme began with an inaugural ceremony with in-person participants at 9 am on 11th September 2023 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi.
